Carriage Classic

The Villa Louis Carriage Classic is horse show held on the historic grounds of the Villa Louis Historic Site in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

This show hosts one of the largest carriage driving competition, with over 130 different turnouts coming from all over United States.

It includes the Dog Carriage category. Above is the winner which leads me to believe, to win the Dog Carriage category, put a hat on your dog.

They even have a picnic category!




































Of course Donnie and I take any chance we can to dress the part!

Books and Beer

At the airport now, downing a Rogue beer and have just purchase the book "odd thomas" which my mom told me to read on this trip. Had dinner with Becky at a Pho place - pretty good considering my soup had what I think was tripe in it. Either that or slices of tongue. Bumpy and white whatever it was.

Ready to start on my journey home -- will be flying over night. Will try to sleep on the plane, or at least read until I pass out.

Very good trip all around I believe. On to the next adventure.

We made a ton of money at the charity auction -- over double of last year!!!!

Yay! Still gots the internets

OIt is pitch black but I am behind the stage checking to see if I can accept credit cards -- and I can! Yay! And we printed some emergency pages just in case.

KH just wrote me. Sounds like she has to wait tables on the Republicans. Ooooh. When we go up to visit her we may just have to kidnap her.

Portland = Cloudy, 50 degrees

Prairie du Chien = Fair, 73 degrees

Labor Day

• Check out is at noon
• Gotta see if I can leave my car in the garage here
• Gotta print out some stuff for Auction
• Test internet downstairs
• Move auction stuff from exhibitor hall to main events
• Print out list of auction stuff and credit card payment slips
• Get some blue tape to label items
• Take a couple more pictures

• I think I'm gonna choose my seating for the flight home and maybe print boarding pass (since I am checking bags, I may not.)
• And gonna check my work email

Coffee is my friend right now. As is TV -- it will keep me company as I pack.
